Vampires, Diamonds and True Love

Of all the recent celebrity diamond rings I’ve been spotting this summer (from Ivanka Trump to Bethenny Frankel), this one takes the cake! True Blood’s first couple is getting hitched in real life!

For those of you who aren’t into HBO's latest vampire screen sensation (if not, you really oughta be), Anna Paquin plays telepathic Sookie Stackhouse who falls in love with a sexy 200 year-old vampire played by Stephen Moyer. You follow?

The lovebirds hit it off during the audition two years ago and news hit yesterday that they’re making things official.

No wedding details are available yet, but OK Magazine spotted Paquin flaunting her stunning new diamond engagement ring while walking her dog in Venice this morning.

Awwww…..

Moyer, 39, has two children from previous relationships: a son, Billy, born in 2000, and a daughter, Lilac, born in 2002. This will be the first marriage for both.

Last month, Paquin, 27, said of her steamy love scenes with Moyer: "Obviously, if you're already with that person then you're not having to sort of get over the 'Wow, I'm naked with someone that I don't even know the middle name of!"

Anna? You are one lucky telepath.

What do you guys think of the happy couple? A match made in TV heaven or an odd couple destined to fizzle?

Cynthia Nixon Announces Engagement

Sex and the City star, Cynthia Nixon flashed her new diamond engagement ring at a Sunday rally in New York to support same-sex marriage – a measure New York Governor, David A Paterson, is sponsoring with help from Mayor Michael Bloomberg.

Our favorite red head revealed that longtime partner, Christine Marinoni, popped the question last month, and she happily did the ring finger wave in front of the supportive crowd while shouting,

"It's time already!"

Nixon and Marinoni, an education activist, began dating in 2004, following the actress's 2003 split from her companion of 16 years, photographer Danny Mozes, with whom she has two children: Samantha, 12, and Charles, 6.

Nixon has said,

"I don't really want to get married to get married pretend. I think we'd like to do it in a real, actual, legal way that the state would recognize."

There's nothing pretend about that diamond, sister.

No wedding details have been announced, but I'll stay on the case for all you SATC fans. Here's hoping Miss Cynthia will stay far away from Carrie Bradshaw 'bird bridal'.)

Diamonds really are a girls' best friend, in this case. Congrats to the happy couple.

What do you guys think of the news?

Tom Brady Pops the Question

Sidelined QB and all-around hottie, Tom Brady, gave his uber-model girlfriend, Gisele Bundschen, the ultimate Christmas gift this year: a diamond engagement ring. And the lucky lady said ‘yes’!

Well, duh.

According to the pillar of journalistic integrity, TMZ, the Patriots’ fearless leader proposed on a private jet that took off from New Jersey’s Teterboro Airport and landed in Boston. Four dozen roses, champagne and Gisele’s parents were on board to set the mood. (The mile high club membership will obviously be dealyed until the honeymoon…)

Brady and Bundschen have been dating since late 2006, following her split with actor Leonardo DiCaprio and Brady’s highly publicized breakup with former girlfriend Bridget Moynahan, with whom he also has a son.

Rumors of an engagement between the two have been circulating since late October, when it was reported that Brady was spotted in Beverly Hills looking at a five carat, yellow diamond engagement ring. However, according to the Boston Herald, Gisele said that she would rather have an “antique-looking and understated” ring.

And the final verdict? No photos have surfaced yet of the rock that took the richest supermodel off the market, but you can bet I’ll be on the look out.

And as for the groom-to-be, he’s apparently taken a new job as ‘Gisele’s errand boy’ while he’s sidelined with an injury until next season. If this football thing doesn’t work out, maybe he has a future in wedding planning?
